Protecting curiosity. Restoring a love of learning.

Children are born curious. They explore the world with interest, imagination and a natural desire to learn.

Sometimes that curiosity becomes constrained — through stress, educational experiences that did not fit, or environments that unintentionally place pressure on the child.

I work with families who want to protect their child’s natural love of learning or help them rediscover it after difficult experiences.

Who I work with

  • Families designing their child’s home education

  • Children recovering from school distress

  • Neurodiverse and neurotypical learners

  • Parents wanting to nurture lifelong love of learning and curiosity in their children.

Together we look at the conditions that allow learning to flourish — supporting children to feel safe, confident, curious and engaged in their learning again.

My Philosophy

I believe that children are born ready to learn…

Curiosity, exploration and the desire to understand the world are natural parts of being human. When the right conditions are in place, learning does not need to be forced — it grows through interest, play, challenge and connection. Over the years, I have worked with many children who were described as “unmotivated” or “unable to learn”. Yet when they felt safe, understood and offered learning that truly met them where they were developmentally, something remarkable often happened: their curiosity returned.

This has shaped my belief that difficulties with learning are rarely about a lack of ability or potential. More often, they reflect a mismatch between the child and their environment. My work focuses on helping families create the conditions where learning can flourish — protecting a child’s natural curiosity, or helping them rediscover it after difficult experiences.

At the heart of my approach is a simple belief:

Children deserve to feel capable, curious and joyful in their learning.

My Approach - Two Pathways

The Learning Foundations Pathway

For families who are designing their child’s home learning and want to ensure it supports their child’s holistic development and nurtures their child’s natural love of learning.

The Learning Recovery Pathway

For families whose child has become disengaged from learning due to stress, burnout, or difficult educational experiences, and who want to help their child rediscover confidence, curiosity, and joy in learning.
